Our Story
Founded in 1993 in Portland, Oregon by Carol Studenmund and Robin Nodland, LNS Captioning has spent more than 30 years providing accurate, professional real-time CART captioning and accessibility services. From its Pacific Northwest roots, LNS has grown to serve clients nationwide with both remote and onsite captioning for conferences, graduations, classrooms, public meetings, stadiums, and more, always powered by experienced human captioners who understand the importance of accuracy and context in every setting.
Today, LNS Captioning is owned by Tracy Reinke and Patty White, both longtime captioners who were part of the LNS network as independent contractors before acquiring the business. Their journey from working captioners to owners reflects a deep, firsthand understanding of the work and the people behind it.
Tracy and Patty also operate Simply Captions, which is why you may see two logos on this site. While the brands remain distinct, they operate as one trusted, experienced team committed to reliable service, strong relationships, and making communication accessible for every audience.
